Members of the Yorktown Police Department responded to a local home, where there was a report of a domestic dispute that turned physical.
According to police, the investigation into the incident determined that Yorktown resident Bekim Rexhepi, 28, allegedly threw a chair at his victim, “causing pain and injury.” Rexhepi also allegedly then “applied pressure to the neck and throat using his hands, making it hard for the victim to breathe.”
The following day, Rexhepi turned himself in to investigators at the Yorktown Police Department, where he was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and assault.
Rexhepi was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and a Temporary Order of Protection was issued on behalf of his victim. Rexhepi was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
